A Record-Breaking World Championship for Davide Pedersoli Replicas

This dominance also translated into numerous medals for the Davide Pedersoli company: 11 gold, 12 silver, and 16 bronze, both individual and team disciplines. A championship to remember for the Italian replicas, and a record-breaking one as well: “It’s a great satisfaction the achievement of the world record with the score of 99/100 by German Reiner Holla in the Minié discipline at 100 meters with the Mauser Württembergisches 1857,” explains Pierangelo Pedersoli. “Our Mauser was a major player in that disciline, with 5 in the top 7, including a Zouave, and in the Lamarmora discipline at 50 meters standing position, with as many as 6 rifles in the top six: almost perfection! I want to share this satisfaction with all the departments of the company: everyone’s commitment to quality, attention to detail, and precision in manufacturing are the foundations of future successes.”

For over sixty-five years, the mission of the Gardone Val Trompia (Brescia) company has been to build replicas of historical firearms with specific ballistic and mechanical characteristics for competitions.

In Minié Replicas (percussion rifles at 100 meters), in addition to Holla’s gold, there was also a silver for Finnish shooter Timo Aulis Näätänen Lihavainen. Then, the team gold achieved in Magenta discipline with the Mauser and Zouave rifles used by the French shooters Anaïs Terpoorter and Marc Cartierre, followed by silver for Spain and bronze for Hungary, also using Pedersoli Mauser rifles.

Additionally, there was silver in the Amazons R/O category (women with rifles at 100 meters) with the Gibbs rifle of Terpoorter, bronze in the Rigby discipline (percussion rifle at 100 meters) with Cartierre’s Gibbs, and another bronze in the Maximilian discipline (100 meters) with two Mortimer rifles from the Austrian team.

In Lamarmora Replicas (military percussion rifles at 50 meters standing position), there was a German sweep with “made by Pedersoli Mauser” rifles: gold for Andreas Wimmer, silver for Michael Sturm, and bronze for Alfred Bailer.

Other Pedersoli replicas also achieved excellent results at 50 meters: Swiss Match, Bristlen Morges, 1766 Charleville, AN IX Dragoons, and Brown Bess. In the Miquelet Replicas discipline (flintlock musket at 50 meters), silver went to Sondre Nordhagen (NOR) with a Pedersoli Brown Bess, and bronze to Näätänen Lihavainen with a Pedersoli AN IX. In the Pennsylvania category (rifle at 50 meters), Andreas Terpoorter won bronze with the Jaeger rifle.

In the team competition for Enfield (Lamarmora Originals and Replicas), gold, silver, and bronze were won respectively by Switzerland, Germany, and Spain. Similarly, the three medals went to the Kossuth (Pennsylvania) teams of France, Germany, and Hungary, and to the teams from Germany, Finland, and Norway in the Halikko discipline (Miquelet).

In the clay shooting events, the winning replicas were again Pedersoli's Mortimer: the shotgun won gold and silver in the Lorenzoni Replicas discipline (smoothbore percussion shotgun) thanks to Hungarian Tamas Dobos and Frenchman Bruno Descombin. With the same two shooters, they also won silver and bronze in the Manton category (smoothbore flintlock shotgun). Gold and silver were also won in the Batesville team event (Lorenzoni Originals and Replicas) by Spain and Germany, and there was a German gold in the Hawker category (Manton Originals and Replicas).

Although Pedersoli replicas missed the gold in the 25-meter Cominazzo Replicas pistol discipline, they dominated the top six positions with Le Page, Mortimer, Tatham & Egg, and Continental models, starting with silver and bronze by German shooters Lucas Müller and Ralf Strobel. In the Donald Malson R category (50-meter revolver), Spanish shooter Juan Cortés Alamar won bronze with a Pedersoli Remington pattern revolver, and Italian Paolo De Francesco took silver in Kuchenreuter S with the Le Page pistol Maple.

Lastly, the Spanish team won bronze in the Forsyth team event (Kuchenreuter Underhammer), while Germany, Slovakia, and Belgium secured gold, silver, and bronze, respectively, in the Wogdon (Cominazzo) team competition.

From Davide Pedersoli, a big applause goes to the event organizers, who deserve recognition for their tremendous effort, especially considering that many of them were simultaneously participating as coordinators of the event and athletes in the competitions.
