Reproduction of one of the guns equipping the Mamelukes squadron, created in the 1802 grouping faithful cavalrymen from the Napoleon Bonaparte Imperial Guards.
Like all the firearms equipping the Imperial Guards, the Mameluke pistols were made at the Manufacture of Versailles under the technical management of Nicolas-Noël Boutet.
